PopUp Bagels is set to open a new location in Times Square at 1501 Broadway on October 16. The new location will follow PopUp Bagels’ ‘Grip, Rip, and Dip’ concept, serving bagels whole and fresh from the oven. The opening adds another New York City location as the brand continues to expand across the country.

The store will celebrate its grand opening with two New York City-inspired offerings. The two offerings are the New York Cheesecake Strawberry Schmear and Everything But the Pastrami Butter, the latter created in collaboration with Katz’s Delicatessen.

The grand opening celebration will also include a live DJ. It will also feature exclusive NYC merchandise for the first guests, beverages from Saint James, La Colombe and Natalie’s and fresh hot bagels. The new store will open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“New York has been such an important part of the PopUp story, so opening a shop in Times Square feels pretty surreal,” said Adam Goldberg, Founder of PopUp Bagels. “New Yorkers have brought so much energy and excitement to what we do, and to now have a home in the city’s heartbeat feels deeply special.”

“Times Square is one of the most iconic destinations in New York City and the world,” said Tory Bartlett, CEO of PopUp Bagels. “Opening here is symbolic of how far we’ve come, and a true celebration for the community that has brought us to where we are and where we are headed.”

PopUp Bagels was founded by Adam Goldberg in Westport, Connecticut. What began as a pandemic-era home-baking project has since grown into a business with locations across 20 states, including New York, California, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and others.

What to Expect

PopUp Bagels’ Times Square location will follow the brand’s signature concept. The brand serves bagels hot and whole, fresh from the oven, rather than sliced and toasted. Customers can tear the bagels apart and dip them into a selection of cream cheese and spreads.

The store will also offer the brand’s classic bagels, such as plain, salt, sesame, everything, and poppy. Its cream cheese and spread flavors also rotate and include limited-time collaborations.
