There’s a sweet new development on the horizon for Memphis diners. An ice cream shop listed as “Fruity Loopy LLC” has filed the paperwork to open a storefront on Germantown Parkway, bringing locals a new way to enjoy a cool, indulgent treat.

Fruity Loopy is planning to set up shop at 1339 N Germanton Parkway. The concept-described simply as an “ice cream shop”-has a certificate of occupancy under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development. The submitted form shows that the eatery will span 1,300 square feet and will have an occupant load of 11.

There is little information available about Fruity Loopy beyond its name and its focus on ice cream. The concept does not yet have a digital footprint, however listed owner Maria Tirado is no stranger to hospitality, having previously launched the Taco Cat restaurant.

An opening timeline is not presently available for Fruity Loopy; the certificate of occupancy remains under review as of October 8. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership for further details and will update readers as information becomes available.
