SpiceQ is planning a new restaurant and retail development in Spicewood, bringing a proposed 10,008-square-foot, single-story building to 5600 State Highway 71, according to records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The project, registered under TABS2027001305, calls for the new construction of a mixed-use restaurant and retail building. The development has an estimated construction cost of $1.8 million and is privately funded.

SpiceQ LLC is listed as the project owner, with Pavan Karnati named as the owner contact. The filing identifies Col-Lab Studio as the design firm.

Construction is scheduled to begin January 15, 2027, with completion projected for July 30, 2028. These dates reflect the project filing and do not confirm that construction has started or establish an opening date for the restaurant.

While the filing identifies SpiceQ as the facility name, additional details about the restaurant concept have not yet been publicly confirmed. Its cuisine, menu, interior design, operating hours and anticipated opening date remain unclear.

The planned development will combine restaurant and retail space within a single-story building, potentially bringing new dining and shopping options to the State Highway 71 corridor in Spicewood, west of Austin.

The project is listed as privately funded on private land for private use. The tenant has not yet been assigned in the TDLR filing.

As the project progresses, further details about the restaurant’s concept and the planned retail component may clarify what visitors can expect from the development.

What Now Austin reached out to SpiceQ LLC for additional information about the upcoming development, including the restaurant concept, menu, and anticipated opening date, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
