A new Italian restaurant will bring authentic flavors to Manhattan’s South Street Seaport Historic District this winter.
Casa Serra, from the team behind House of Pasta, will debut at 227 Front St., according to a press release.
“I’ve watched the Seaport evolve over the years, and seeing the neighborhood grow and thrive made finding this space feel especially meaningful. The table has always been a place where people come together, and that feeling is at the heart of Casa Serra,” co-owner Jazmin Rodriguez said in a statement.
“Casa Serra” translates to “Green House” in Italian. The restaurant’s interior draws inspiration from the building’s architecture, incorporating natural light and greenery to reflect its name.
“When I first walked into 227 Front Street and saw the skylights, I could immediately picture the space filled with trees, plants, beautiful food, and people gathered around the table,” Rodriguez said.
The menu will follow House of Pasta’s approach to Italian cuisine, bringing several of its most popular dishes to the new restaurant. Diners can expect favorites such as mushroom and truffle white lasagna, bucatini alla pistachio and milanese served with fettuccine al burro.
The team looks forward to expanding its presence with the launch of the sister restaurant.
“Casa Serra gives us the opportunity to bring what people love about House of Pasta into a new environment that feels connected to this community,” Rodriguez said.
Casa Serra expects to open in December. Stay tuned!
