About the Company

The company was established in 2012 by five high school friends from Orange County. Their interest in craft beer grew after they attended the Oregon Brewers Festival. The friends began experimenting with brewing before opening their first brewery in Long Beach’s Bixby Knolls neighborhood in 2019.

The company’s Hazy IPA, Professional Human Being, won a gold medal at the 2024 Great American Beer Festival. Its coffee beer, Central Perk, received a bronze medal at the 2019 competition. Other achievements include multiple awards at the California Brewers Cup.

“We’re excited that the Ambitious Ales guys are also becoming LABsters – they are “ambitious” for sure! And will add great craft beer, energy, and an awesome patio experience to the LAB small business collective,” shared Linda Sadeghi, owner of The LAB Anti-Mall.

The upcoming opening will add a new brewery and tasting room to Costa Mesa and expand the company’s presence beyond Long Beach.
