Memphis-area amateur mixologists, get ready to stock your bars. A new store called Raw Liquor has filed papers to open in the hopes of bringing its boozy wares to the neighborhood.
Once all the necessary approvals are attained, customers will be able to stop in to refresh their liquor cabinets at 5733 Raleigh Lagrange Road. Raw Liquor has submitted an application for a certificate of occupancy with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development for the location.
Little information is available about Raw Liquor beyond the basic fact that it is a liquor store. It is, however, owned by Rakam Alstratai, who is no stranger to Memphis retail. Alstratai previously launched Raw Smokey Mart and 901 Smokey Mart, suggesting that Raw shoppers will be in good and experienced hands.
It’s not yet clear when Raw Liquor will begin welcoming customers-the concept does not yet have a digital footprint, and the certificate of occupancy is under review as of October 13. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership and will provide readers with updates as they become available.
