A culinary concept blending traditional Honduran and American dishes is heading toward a debut in New Orleans East. Set to me located at 8480 Morrison Rd., Tesla’s Kitchen will bring an electric, cross-cultural menu when it opens this fall.

Owner and operator Tesla Arzu is powering up her debut brick-and-mortar establishment as she works toward finishing culinary school.

“I love, love cooking,” she told What Now New Orleans. “I’m going to culinary school, so I’m about to graduate and I just decided to open my restaurant instead of going and work for somebody else.”

The upcoming restaurant will offer both dine-in and takeout service, featuring a menu that bridges New Orleans classics with Honduran staples. Diners can expect local dishes such as shrimp and grits alongside signature Tesla Burgers. The upcoming spot will also have traditional Honduran items like baleadas and pollo catrachos. To drink, the establishment plans to serve traditional soft drinks made with hibiscus, passion fruit, and orange juices. Arzu is currently navigating final building inspections and anticipates announcing an official opening date soon. Further details regarding operating hours, social media pages, and website links are expected to be subsequently released.
