Caption by Hyatt Hillsboro is under development at 5523 NE Huffman St. in Hillsboro. The new-build hotel will have 115 rooms and will be managed by PM Hotel Group. It sits about 20 minutes outside Portland, near Highway 26 and Hillsboro Airport.

Caption by Hyatt is the company’s lifestyle brand, built around social spaces and a locally inspired feel. Hyatt describes its hotels as stays for travelers who value “vibe, convenience, and community.” Other locations include Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood and downtown Chattanooga.

The Hillsboro hotel is part of a larger expansion by PM Hotel Group, which is adding three hotels in the Portland area. The addition takes its local portfolio from four hotels to seven. The other two are the Hampton Inn Sherwood Portland, with 73 rooms on Southwest Meinecke Parkway, and the Hampton Inn & Suites Portland Tigard, with 152 rooms on Southwest 69th Avenue.

PM Hotel Group’s executives said each property serves a different role in the market. “Each of these hotels adds a distinct piece to our platform here,” said Mike Daley, the company’s vice president of operations. He described the Hillsboro hotel as “a new lifestyle presence in Hillsboro.”

The company already manages the Cambria Hotel Portland, Pearl District, the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, the Hampton Inn Portland Airport and the Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station. Its Portland-area portfolio now spans the Choice, Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt brand families.
