A global gelato chain is expanding its presence in Belmont Shore. According to Longbeachize, Bacio di Latte plans to take over the former Holey Grail space at 4803 E. 2nd St.

Bacio di Latte was founded in 2011 by Milanese brothers Edoardo and Luigi Tonolli. The chain specializes in gelato made with fresh ingredients and traditional Italian techniques.

Before launching the business, the brothers traveled throughout Italy to study traditional gelato recipes and the ingredients used to make them. The menu is expected to feature more than 20 flavors, including Pistacchio, Giandujotto, Cioccolato Belga, and Nutellina.

The storefront planned has changed hands before. Holey Grail, a Hawaii-based taro doughnut brand, opened its first Long Beach shop at the address in June 2024 before closing abruptly amid reports of unpaid rent, according to Longbeachize.

What Now Los Angeles reached out to Bacio di Latte representatives for information about the opening timeline but did not receive a response before press time.

What Now Los Angeles has also followed Bacio di Latte’s planned expansion across Southern California, including locations in Santa Monica, Topanga Village, Beverly Hills, Beverly Grove, and The Americana at Brand in Glendale.
