Pizza Nostra is preparing to open its first Toronto location at 802 The Queensway in Etobicoke, according to Insauga. The pizzeria currently operates two locations in Mississauga. An opening date has not been confirmed.

Pizza Nostra was founded in 2015 by brothers Marco and Andrea Grande and Marco’s wife, Lilly. The brothers grew up working in the food industry alongside their father, Rosario, at his butcher shop on Jane Street in Toronto. According to the company’s website, the family-run pizzeria makes its dough, sauces, vinaigrettes, meatballs, and other items in-house.

The pizzeria serves 16-inch thin-crust pizzas and 16-inch square Sicilian pizzas, both made with vegan dough prepared in-house, according to insauga. Specialty pies include the Vodka Pepperoni and the Marco Special. The menu also includes 12-inch hoagies and wings, according to the company’s website.

The original location at 362 Lakeshore Rd. W. in Mississauga takes phone orders for pickup only and is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, according to the website. The pizzeria warns customers that orders can take 45 to 60 minutes on busy nights. Its second location, at 245 Lakeshore Rd. E., is closed Mondays and offers delivery through Calibre.

Pizza Nostra drew wider attention after Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy reviewed it on his One Bite pizza review series. He gave the pizzeria a score of 8.0, according to Streets of Toronto.
