Greenwich Village is set to welcome a new restaurant.
Operator Jason Cho recently filed a liquor license application for Cypher at 228 Thompson St., between Bleecker and W. Third streets.
The application describes the new spot as an American restaurant serving a “playful, hyper-seasonal” menu focused on quality ingredients while paying “tribute to nostalgic” cuisine.
A preview of the menu features beef Wellington for two with Bulich mushroom duxelles, Frederick wheat and melted onions; Snowdance chicken with ginger, scallions, baby potatoes and jus; and charred Montauk swordfish with rice and shiitake mushrooms.
To complement the fare, the team plans to offer a curated wine selection featuring bottles from the United States, France and Italy, alongside selections from “upcoming star winemakers.”
The space will accommodate up to 64 guests and feature a standing bar area.
The team is currently working through the permitting and licensing process.
Once open, Cypher will operate daily from 5pm to 12am.
Stay tuned!
