Souplantation might be reopening at 11179 Talbert Ave. in Fountain Valley, California. A plan review for the project has been filed with the Orange County health department.

The restaurant will occupy about 7,800 square feet in The Shoppes at Costco Plaza, according to the Orange County Business Journal,  but an exact opening date has not been announced.

Souplantation, known as Sweet Tomatoes outside California, closed all of its locations in 2020. In March 2023, ST Three LLC acquired the brand’s rights and intellectual property. The revived company operates locations in Tucson, Arizona, and Fort Myers, Florida. Fountain Valley will be its third restaurant and its first in California since the closures.

The chain is known for its all-you-can-eat soup and salad buffet. Its stations offer salads, soups, pasta, fresh-baked muffins, focaccia, and desserts. According to reports on the return, the company plans to bring back the original recipes along with updated décor.
