UNA East Valley is targeting a January 2027 grand opening at 2655 W. Guadalupe Road, Suite 18, in Mesa, founder Danielle Thompson told What Now Phoenix.
The project will be The UNA Collective’s first physical gathering space, where movement and mindfulness classes meet creative workshops, social events, and coffee.
“Our focus is belonging, whether you’re taking a class, joining trivia night, or meeting someone over coffee. It’s a neighborhood gathering place where there’s something to do when you want to get out of the house and connect,” Thompson said.
Thompson started developing UNA in 2023. Her background in social science and systems design led her to think about how the places people visit can help them build relationships through everyday activities.
“With UNA, I wanted to put that into practice, creating a place where a class, a creative workshop, or a cup of coffee can lead to a conversation, a friendship, or something new to look forward to,” she said.
She chose the Mesa location as an intimate setting where the business could expand alongside the surrounding neighborhood.
“You might come for yoga or mindfulness, stay for coffee, try a creative workshop, or bring friends to trivia night. The idea is to give people plenty of reasons to get out of the house, try something new, and have fun together.”
The planned schedule also includes meditation, sound baths, book discussions, and open-mic and poetry nights. The website lists both class memberships and individual sessions, with teachers, times, and booking details still to come.
Coffee will give visitors another way to spend time at UNA. Thompson said guests will be welcome to stop in without taking a class or purchasing a membership.
“It’s an easy way to enjoy the space, meet a friend, and discover what’s happening at UNA.”
The team is still preparing the space and hopes to offer preview classes and creative workshops in December 2026. Specific dates will be announced as the space and schedule are finalized. Founding-member opportunities are also coming soon.
For Thompson, people should feel comfortable visiting even if they have never taken a yoga class or attended a creative workshop.
“You don’t need to be experienced in yoga, consider yourself creative, or know anyone before walking in. Come on your own or bring a friend. UNA is a place to explore, have fun, and feel connected,” she added.
