The Ridge Grill in Beaverton has a new owner, Carlos Castañeda, who plans to add brunch, breakfast and new menu items while keeping the restaurant open and its name the same. Castañeda confirmed the plans to What Now Portland and said that changes will come gradually, with no temporary closure planned.
The restaurant, at 12345 SW Horizon Blvd., #61, in Progress Ridge Townsquare, changed hands in September. Castañeda said he is updating the bar and that some of the changes are already visible. The restaurant is also keeping its existing staff.
The Ridge Grill describes itself as a family-owned neighborhood restaurant. It serves steaks, seafood, pasta and wood-fired pizza, along with the Big Texan Burger, and has a full bar with local microbrews and hand-built cocktails. Happy hour runs daily from 2 to 6 p.m. and again from 8 p.m. to close. The restaurant has outdoor seating on a patio near a fountain, which makes it popular with families.
Customers have often praised the restaurant’s wood-fired pizza, its happy hour flatbread and margaritas, and dishes such as the spinach artichoke dip and fish and chips.
“Yes, we’re updating the bar and we’re going to add some new menu items,” Castañeda said. “We’re going to add brunch, and we’ll have breakfasts too.” Castañeda said it’s “business as usual” in the meantime. “We’re going to make the changes little by little,” he told What Now Portland.
