Church’s Chicken is working on another Katy opening. According to a recently filed permit with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the beloved fried-chicken fast-casual brand is expected to open at 2305 Fry Road.
“We’re returning to a familiar location in Katy, and our market analytics confirmed it’s an ideal fit for Church’s Texas Chicken,” Church’s Chicken Senior Vice President of Company Restaurant Operations, Bill Mitchell, said in an interview with What Now Houston.
“We see a great opportunity to reconnect with the community and bring our signature chicken, hospitality and value back to the area.”
The address sits within the Mayde Creek and Park Row sub-neighborhoods of the Katy/West Houston area. The property sits directly on the pad or outskirts of the Fry Road Crossing Shopping Center. This retail corridor sits just north of the Katy Freeway (I-10) intersection.
“Our Katy location will feature our new KIOSKS as well as our Real Rewards Loyalty program where guests earn points on every purchase that they can redeem for great free menu items,” Mitchell said.
“The restaurant will also feature our new 1400 Blaze Image Building. Stay tuned as we will start posting for hiring events in early May of 2027!”
The plan is to open the new Church’s Chicken by Summer 2027.
“There will be a Grand Opening Block Party after the restaurant opens that will feature family activities, entertainment for all, and even the chance to win Free Church’s Chicken for a year,” Mitchell said.
George W. Church Sr. founded Church’s Texas Chicken (known as Church’s Chicken in the U.S.) on April 10, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas. Church Sr. opened a small walk-up stand called “Church’s Fried Chicken-To-Go” at 111 S. Alamo Street, located directly across from the historic Alamo.
