A seafood staple in Houston, Joe’s Oyster Bar and Grill announced the closure of its Rosenberg location. After 10 years of service, the restaurant will shut its operations next month. The original location of the restaurant in Port Isabel, Texas, will remain open.

Joe’s Oyster Bar Rosenberg Sets Closure Date

Situated in the heart of the Greater Houston area, Joe’s Oyster Bar and Grill is an independent restaurant. It offers a casual and beach-shack ambience with scratch-made recipes.

In a social media announcement, the restaurant owner, Joe Castillo, shared that the restaurant located at 535 Minonite Road #120, Rosenberg, will shut down permanently. “We will be closing our doors on November 20,” stated the owner.

According to the official announcement, the restaurant is closing because the owner made a difficult decision and decided not to renew its lease.

Castillo thanked customers and the community for their support, writing, “I can’t thank y’all enough for the many blessings you have bestowed upon me and my family.”

Original Location Remains Open

While the Rosenberg location is wrapping up its operations, the flagship location of the restaurant will continue to serve the community. Customers can visit the Port Isabel location of Joe’s Oyster at 207 E Maxan Street to enjoy the same flavors and warmth.

The business traces its roots to Gulf Seafood Market, which opened in Port Isabel in 1982. With Joe’s Oyster Bar and Grill, Joe Castillo has been serving the community with fresh seafood for over three decades.

With a hopeful tone, Joe’s Oyster is bidding farewell to the Rosenberg community. “Hopefully, this is not a goodbye but a see y’all later,” said the owner.

Following the closure announcement, several customers of the restaurant expressed their disappointment on social media. One of the customers commented, “This one hurts, bro. Favorite restaurant in town; only wish I went more! A constant in rotation for my dad and me, even if we just did take out! So bummed, gonna miss that fried chicken.”

Customers can visit the Rosenberg location before its final day on November 20.
