A new restaurant is opening in Lake City that will bring people together for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—a place where guests will “Come hungry. Leave Family.”
The Rusted Rail will open at 104 E. Thomas Street in late fall. Owner Cameron Euten told What Now on Wednesday that, while no opening date has been set yet, the Rusted Rail is working to open by mid-November to early December.
“We’ll have burgers and fries, plus different lunch specials daily,” Euten said. Lunch specials will operate on a meat-and-two basis. “We’ll also have things that no one else has in Lake City, things like Philly cheesesteaks and maple bacon chicken.”
The vibe is pure 1950s diner. Built from an old train car, the Rusted Rail will feature diner-style seating with black-and-white checker floors and curtains. Outdoor patio seating will feature live music and entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays.
“Thank y’all from the bottom of our hearts for every like, share, comment, and word of encouragement,” said The Rusted Rail in a Facebook post in September. “It means more than you know to have our little dream already getting so much love from the community. We’re working hard behind the scenes to get this old train ready to roll, and we can’t wait for you to pull into the station and welcome y’all through the doors! Y’all keep spreading the word there’s some good things coming down the track!”
