Penn Station Sandwiches, the sub franchise with more than 300 locations across the United States, made its debut in Summerville yesterday. Planned festivities to be held yesterday morning kicked off at 9 a.m., with a drawing for 10 guests to win free subs for a year. The ribbon-cutting festivities also included a sub-making relay race with a team of firefighters up against a team of police officers.

Doors opened at 11 a.m., and you can now visit Penn Station Sandwiches at 460 Old Trolley Road.

Behind the location is a longstanding team of Pen Station franchisees.

“We started in Kentucky about 20 years ago,” Rhonda Graham, who has opened the location together with Jimmie Graham, told What Now this week. “We moved to South Carolina about 2022, and then our sons moved to Charleston and wanted to get in on the Penn Station franchise, so we started over with them.”

Plans for an expansion include 10 different territories across South Carolina, including 6 in the Charleston area, along with Bluffton and Savannah and Pooler, across the Georgia line.

The area will be seeing a lot more of Penn Station, and Graham is confident in the brand.

“It lives up to the hype,” Graham said. “The food is excellent. If you come and try us, you will fall in love.”
