What Now reported in August on plans for Warby Parker, the retailer featuring eyeglasses, sunglasses, contacts and more, to open a new location in Sarasota’s Sarasota Square shopping center.

As it happens, this is not the only new location Warby Parker has planned for the greater Tampa Bay region. Closer to the Bay, the brand is preparing to launch a new location in St. Petersburg’s EDGE District.

The new Warby Parker will open at 1124 Central Ave., according to the Warby Parker website. The site gives an estimated opening of 2026, so it can be expected to launch before year’s end.

“Warby Parker was founded with a mission: to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose, and style,” says the website. “We aim to demonstrate that a business can scale, become profitable, and do good in the world—without charging a premium for it. Since the day we launched in 2010, we’ve pioneered ideas, designed products, and developed technologies that help people see—from designer-quality prescription glasses (starting at $95) and contacts to eye exams and vision tests. Customers can meet us online, at more than 300 Warby Parker stores across the U.S. and Canada, or even in their home.”

Opening in the Central Avenue location, Warby Parker will join a business community that includes Moxy St. Petersburg Downtown, Vivre Pilates Studio, and Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine.
