As BHC, the hospitality company helmed by Ben Navarro, reenvisions The Charleston Place, which it purchased several years ago, the updates are continuing apace.

“At The Charleston Place, a redesigned club level, an upgraded rooftop pool and garden bar, refreshed guest rooms and resort-style amenities have been added with the goal of making the hotel a ‘destination’ rather than just a place to stay,” says coverage by the Post and Courier.

Next up, the coverage says, is the hotel’s restaurant roster. The Palmetto Cafe and the Thoroughbred Club will close at the end of this year; meanwhile, chef Daniel Humm’s pop-up in the former home of the Charleston Grill has finished its run.

The concepts replacing these restaurants are expected to debut in 2028. They will include “a signature restaurant, a pub-inspired spot for casual dining and a new lobby bar that pays homage to the Thoroughbred Club.”

The signature restaurant will make dining into an event, with dishes finished tableside in a setting that will work for date night or for group gatherings.

Additional details are still under wraps for now, so stay tuned for more!
