A provocative new cocktail bar is rising from the ashes of beloved shuttered Oxford institution Bar Muse. The team that launched that local favorite are turning their attention to Bar Nero, “An Italian-inspired aperitivo bar built around the art of drinks after dark.”
Bar Nero will be opening in the former home of Growler at 265 N Lamar Boulevard, Ste Y, a space it will be sharing with fast-casual lunch spot Mea Culpa. Both concepts are helmed by Joe Stinchcomb and Ross Hester, though the duo have also teamed up with Marco D’Emidio for Mea Culp.
A social media post announcing Bar Nero offered a tantalizing taste of what the concept has in store, saying: “Bar Muse rises from the dead to become Bar Nero, an Italian-inspired cocktail bar featuring thoughtful and artful aperitifs from Joe Stinchcomb, exclusively Italian wines, and small bites.”
Bar Nero has not yet announced an opening date; be sure to follow the establishment on its Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on when it will be ready to welcome customers.
