Five Below is planning a store in the former Ivy & Sage space at 4946 S. Power Road in Mesa, according to Gilbert NOW.
The space is part of Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, which includes Target, Bath & Body Works, Ross, Michaels, and World Market. An opening date has not yet been announced.
At Five Below stores, customers can find toys, games, tech accessories, clothing, beauty products, arts-and-crafts supplies, candy, and home decor. Most merchandise costs between $1 and $5.
The chain opened its first store in Wayne, Pennsylvania, in 2002 and is headquartered in Philadelphia. Founders Tom Vellios and David Schlessinger came up with the idea for a retail brand aimed at kids during a coffee shop conversation, sketching the concept on the back of a napkin.
Today, Five Below operates over 2,000 stores across the U.S.
Five Below already operates Mesa stores in the Superstition Gateway at 1866 S. Signal Butte Road and in Mesa Ranch Plaza at 1036 E. Southern Avenue, Suite M118.
