Blaze Pizza, “the fastest growing restaurant in history,” will open its first Georgia location Thursday, September 7.

The fast-casual pizza concept is in the Emory Commons Shopping Center, at 2131 N. Decatur Road.

To celebrate the grand opening, Blaze Pizza will give away free pizzas Friday, September 8. Anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on social media will get a free 11-inch, build-your-own pizza with any toppings.

This is the first location for the Blaze Pizza franchise group Blazing South. The group plans to continue to grow the concept throughout the Peach State.

“We are thrilled to be opening our flagship location right here in Decatur,” Carl Hoover, Operating Partner for Blazing South, said Thursday in a press release.

Blaze Pizza features an open-kitchen format. Guests can customize one of the menu’s signature pizzas or create their own, all for around $8.

An open-flame oven fast-fire-cooks the pizzas in 180 seconds.

Each restaurant makes its own dough from scratch. The recipe is by Executive Chef Bradford Kent (the “Pizza Whisperer”). A 24-hour fermentation period produces his signature “light-as-air, crisp crust.”

All of the pizza and salad ingredients are free of artificial flavors, colors, preservatives. Blaze Pizza also offers gluten-free dough and vegan cheese.

The Decatur location was constructed using recycled and sustainable materials, uses eco-friendly packaging, and features energy-efficient LED lighting.

The 2,500-square-foot restaurant includes more than 50 interior seats with over 30 seats on an outdoor patio.

The new Blaze Pizza will offer wine and beer including a local craft beer on tap from 3 Taverns Brewery.

Hours of operation are 11:00 am to 10:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11:00 am to 11:00 pm Friday and Saturday.
