Ghostwriter Public House, a Johnstown eatery that, according to its website, “specializes in a modern interpretation of American classics,” this week announced on its social media account that changes are coming to its location at 49 1/2 S Main St.

In an Instagram update posted earlier this week, the restaurant shared the news with its audience that very soon the eatery will temporarily close for just over two weeks in order to make changes to its space and its menu offerings.

“Starting Sunday, December 22nd, Ghostwriter will be temporarily closed as we work on refreshing our space and curating an exciting new menu,” the Instagram post explains. “We’ll be back and better than ever on Wednesday, January 8, and we can’t wait to share our brand-new concept with you!,” the social media update continued.

The exact changes to the space aren’t clear, as the establishment has teased that the updates will unveil “Ghostwriter Public House 2.0” and “a new chapter” for the restaurant. In a second Instagram update, the restaurant stated that it wouldn’t be requiring reservations when it relaunches, and that guests can expect “simple, but decadent” food and customer favorite cocktails out of its bar.

Ghostwriter Public House is owned by Dennis and Denise Blankemeyer, and What Now Columbus reached out to the owners for more information on the new concept, but requests for comment were not returned.
