J.R. Crickets, a chain of independently-owned casual takeout restaurants serving wings, fries, burgers, and sides, is coming soon to Austell.

Franchisee Charles Nichols is behind the forthcoming J.R. Crickets.

Situated at 4180 Austell Road, the restaurant will grand open August 13 at 11 a.m., Nichols over the weekend told What Now Atlanta in an email.

“After many months of searching, all search efforts led back to the city of Austell along the East-West connector corridor,” Nichols said.

“This location was a to-go wing place prior and so logistically it appeared to be a good fit.”

The new J.R. Crickets will be the “first true to-go concept” for the company, he said.

“Traditionally, many of the other locations are equipped with a full bar and seating. This location will not sell alcohol and will focus specifically on providing quality food at an expedited pace while treating each guest with extreme magnanimity.”

Nichols and his team could open future locations but right now his focus is on making this location “the number one go-to for to-go food in the Austell community.”

“We are solely committed to carrying out this mission before considering any other future concepts or locations. I’ll never say never, however, the primary focus is on this location.”
