Pat and Gracie’s Kitchen x Tavern Applies for Liquor License at Downtown Location

The eatery is named for a legendary local couple, Pat Murnan, a railroad man who gained wealth and notoriety from placing successful bets on horse racing, and Gracie Backenstow, the madam of a downtown brothel.

According to a recent liquor license transfer application, it appears that Pat & Gracie’s Kitchen x Tavern could be opening a new location at 121 S High St. The High Street address is located in downtown Columbus and according to Google Maps, it is the home of Firebelly Wings, which as detailed on the wing eatery’s website, is a virtual restaurant that works on a delivery-only model. 

Currently Pat & Gracie’s Kitchen x Tavern has a location in north Columbus on 138 Graceland Blvd. What Now Columbus reached out to the restaurant for details on the liquor license application, but didn’t receive a comment.

As noted on their website, the eatery is named for a legendary local couple, Pat Murnan, a railroad man who gained wealth and notoriety from placing successful bets on horse racing, and Gracie Backenstow, the madam of a downtown brothel.  Pat & Gracie’s Kitchen x Tavern serves pub style fare such as burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, beer and cocktails, as well as a brunch menu that is available only on weekends.
