Benny Boy Brewing is coming soon to Lincoln Heights.
Co-Owners Chelsey Rosetter and Benjamin Farber Wednesday submitted a Zoning Variance case to the City of Los Angeles for permitting of the brewpub, cider house, and beer garden.
Benny Boy Brewing’s future home, at 1821 N Daly Street on the border of Chinatown, is a warehouse space currently zoned for industrial use.
Rosetter and Farber, who first announced plans for Benny Boy Brewing in 2018 but without a location, will use traditional European brewing and cider-making techniques, for their brews.
On the food side of things, “we will be contracting the food element out to caterers and pop-up chefs,” Rosetter in an email Thursday told What Now Los Angeles.
“We will be the only place in the city for people to connect the way they have for millennia—outside, by a fire, with a cold one in hand,” according to the company’s website.
“We brew the way brewers have for centuries: with exclusively whole-flower hops, whole fruit, no filtering, and the natural clarification and carbonation only time can provide.”
While an opening timeline is TBD pending approvals from the City to begin construction, a 2020 debut is likely.
