Sandbox VR announced this week that it will open a new location inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
It hopes to open as early as summer 2021, according to a press release sent out on Thursday.
Home to over 160 signature stores and luxury brands as well as award-winning dining venues the Venetian-inspired shopping center continues to be one of the premier dining and entertainment destinations in Las Vegas. Adding Sandbox VR should help draw new visitors of all ages.
Described as an “immersive experience”, Sandbox VR provides players a unique combination of full-body motion capture and VR technologies that allow them to become anyone and go anywhere.
“The Sandbox experience allows guests to truly step into another world,” the press release said.
It gives users the chance to explore a colorful and haunted pirate ship, ascend past Earth’s atmosphere to fight aliens, or play e-sports.
“We have been incredibly fortunate to have been able to survive such a devastating year for everyone in the retail and entertainment industry,” Founder and CEO of Sandbox VR Steve Zhao said in the press release. “The pandemic has been so isolating for everyone that we are confident once it is safe to gather with friends and family from different households they will be looking for social experiences that offer some fun and escape from the difficulties that 2020 brought.”
Sandbox VR implemented strict COVID-19 safety protocols last year and offers private rooms for each group as it has stayed committed to safety and sanitization.
“As one of the leading retail and entertainment destinations on The Strip, Grand Canal Shoppes is excited to bring Sandbox VR to guests this summer,” Senior Marketing Manager of Grand Canal Shoppes inside The Venetian Resort Janet LaFevre said in the press release. “This is one of the many immersive new experiences The Shoppes has to offer and we look forward to bringing our guests even more offerings to discover new ways to indulge while enjoying a brief break from reality while visiting our destination this year.”
