Owner and Chef Nakamura Takashi will debut Takumi, a new Japanese restaurant, in Southwest Las Vegas this Friday, July 30th. Locals may be familiar with previous restaurants from Nakamura, including Sushi Takashi and Hidaka Sushi–the latter of which sadly closed its doors during the pandemic.

However, locals will soon have a new go-to spot serving exquisite and authentic Japanese fare from the affable, Hokkaido, Japan-born chef. From Sapporo to Austin and at last arriving in Las Vegas in 1990, Nakamura has been treating Americans with traditional Japanese cuisine for over thirty years. Nakamura began as chief sushi chef at Mikado at the Mirage and then moved to Tsunami Asian Grill & Sushi Bar at the Venetian before debuting a series of Japanese restaurants across the Las Vegas area. His latest will certainly delight and dazzle your taste buds.

Takumi will settle into suit 7 of the Rainbow Shopping Center at 7835 S Rainbow Boulevard, replacing what had formerly been Ramen Show. The new Japanese restaurant will sit amongst Zen Curry House Express and Sugar Bee’s Bakery.

We highly recommend you attend the grand opening of Takumi this Friday, July 30th for a delightful meal of sushi, ramen, and other irresistible Japanese dishes.
