Hattie Marie’s Texas Style BBQ & Cajun Kitchen could add three new locations this year through a multi-unit franchising deal.
Etanya Lucas, the restaurant’s first franchisee, is currently scouting real estate in Decatur, Duluth, and Stockbridge for the new storefronts, Hattie Marie’s Co-Owner Willie Griggie in a telephone interview Friday told What Now Atlanta.
“She knows the areas and is currently in negotiations,” Griggie said.
Griggie and his wife Ramona launched Hattie Marie’s in 2017 with a location in College Park, at 3699 Main Street, and in late-2019 announced plans for franchising.
“With our concept, we’ve embraced our family’s tradition while paying homage to my mother, the late Hattie Marie,” Griggie said Friday in a prepared statement.
“Hattie Marie’s BBQ intends to bring the flavor and essence of southeast Texas cooking all over Atlanta with this expansion.”
Hattie Marie’s smokes all of its meats in-house daily.
