Atlanta Mayor Adds Alcohol To-Go Provision To Restaurant Closure Executive Order

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is now allowing restaurants to sell alcohol to-go.

The move comes one day after an Executive Order was announced requiring the City’s restaurants to close dining rooms and offer only takeout and delivery.

“Thank you to all who sent helpful info to assist with our bars and restaurants,” Bottoms tweeted Friday morning.

“I’ve signed an Executive Order that will allow them to serve alcohol during this Take-Out only period.”

The Executive Order is good for 60 days and is the City’s latest response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city of Decatur yesterday put into effect a similar order, including alcohol to-go sales from the getgo.
