Stein Steel & Supply, a mid-20th Century steel plant in Reynoldstown, at 933 Kirkwood Avenue SE, is in planning to become a mixed-use development offering condominiums, townhomes, and restaurants along the Beltline Eastside Trail. Canadian developer Empire Communities’ Atlanta affiliate EAH Acquisitions by way of its law firm Wilson Brock & Irby LLC is set to present plans to Neighborhood Planning Unit: N later this week for the yet-to-be-named development.
Aside from purchasing the land — which is under contract after hitting the market earlier this year — EAH Acquisitions must get rezoning approvals for the project to move forward. “…Empire seeks a rezoning to allow local eating and drinking establishment [sic] and housing units,” Wilson Brock & Irby wrote in a proposal to the Atlanta Office of Zoning and Development. A hearing with the Zoning Review Board is on the books for November 5 or November 12.
Developers plan on “enlarging” the Lang-Carson Park as part of its proposal, “thereby implementing the BeltLine Master Plan’s Parks and Open Space goals…” There would be approximately 264 residential units with an average selling price of $300,000 “or more.” The project has an unlikely completion timeline listed on the application as 2021.

Hope they can reuse some part of the main building in the final proposal but that may lead to another food hall. I kind of bazaar would be cool for craft/small businesses flanked by residence.
There is no plan for restaurant(s), plural. There will be one closest to Wylie and no retail or anything else. Some of these are 6 stories. Not looking forward to construction or traffic… not a happy resident
