Krog Street Market (KSM) is realizing plans to add a new mixed-use building and parking structure to the redevelopment project in Inman Park, at 99 Krog St. NE. ASD | SKY, the architecture firm retained by KSM owner Asana Partners to design the expansion, earlier this month filed a building permit application with the City of Atlanta for the forthcoming four-story building and corresponding five-story parking deck. Set to house retail and office space, the new building could cost $8,000,000 to construct, according to the permit filing. It’s unclear if that figure also includes the parking structure.
The new ground-up building at the site is only one of several projects Asana has going on in and around its KSM development — which was first developed by Paces Properties. Asana’s adjacent Stove Works building will soon offer better connectivity to the Atlanta BeltLine with the addition of a breezeway between the building and the 22-mile loop trail. In making the changes to Stove Works, long-time tenant Rathbun’s and Krog Bar closed up shop.
KSM is located near Irwin Street Market. The 1920s warehouse-style marketplace offers numerous restaurants and retailers. Charlotte-based Asana currently owns the property alongside Stove Works after purchasing it from Paces for a reported $45 million in 2018.
