A park project in Suwanee that’s set to include a food-and-beverage element is almost ready.
Suwanee Circle will be part of the Town Center on Main and DeLay Nature Park, slated to officially open this August following a soft opening expected in July. Renderings show different food stalls and areas for food trucks under pavilion space, as well as a bar. The city is partnering with a private entity to operate the concept, Urbanize Atlanta reports.
Live music, big TVs for sports, and different events are envisioned for the concept. In addition to Suwanee Circle, the park includes an expansive bridge, a veterans memorial, two water features, sandpit volleyball courts and two large lawn areas.
The city broke ground on the project in 2022, but the 25-acre site had been acquired 20 years earlier. A master plan for a future city park was unanimously approved by the Suwanee City Council in 2016.
The property is located at the corner of Suwanee Dam Road and Main Street, adjacent to the Suwanee library and Evergreen Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. It is across from Suwanee Town Center.
My dad and I drove through here last weekend. We both appreciate what has been done in the area, but this is this is the biggest waste of space I’ve seen. More concrete, roads and parking then green space

This is a ridiculous design and we all hate it.
The same thing was said about Town Center in front of City Hall years ago. New trees were planted. It will take time for them to mature.
