A local coffee shop is planning to bring good moods to another area of metro Atlanta.
Bizarre Coffee is coming to Roswell at 1090 Alpharetta Street in what will be the brand’s largest location yet, at 3,500 square feet. The building was formerly occupied by Big Oak Tavern, which closed in 2023.
This will be the company’s third location in Georgia, following shops in Woodstock and Canton. It is expected to offer an expanded menu that will include specialty cocktails.
Bizarre Coffee was founded in 2020 by Sabrina Kaylor, who wanted to “create a coffee brand that blends joy, creativity, and community spirit.” The brand started at farmers markets in Canton, eventually opening their first brick-and-mortar shop at 121 E Marietta Street. They expanded to a second location in 2023, opening in Woodstock at 440 Chambers Street. In addition to operating the coffee shops, the company also sells its specialty coffee wholesale and direct-to-consumer.
“Bizarre Coffee is more than a coffee shop; it’s a community hub where art, creativity, and delicious coffee come together,” according to the website.
Bizarre Coffee is known for vibrant branding, unique specialty drinks, and colorful cups with “Good Mood Juice” emblazoned on the side. Current specials include the Toucan Sam, a blueberry and apple latte topped with orange vanilla cold foam and fruity cereal, and the Lemon Caramel latte, which features a house-made lemon caramel syrup drizzled with salted caramel and topped with a spritz of lemon extract. In addition to coffee, the menu includes tea, smoothies and smoothie bowls, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, toast and more.
Stephany Cruz of Ackerman Retail represented Bizarre Coffee in the lease. She is currently helping Bizarre Coffee with its ongoing expansion, with a specific emphasis on markets in northwest Atlanta, like Kennesaw, Marietta, Acworth and Cartersville.
Kaylor told What Now Atlanta they are aiming for a fall 2025 opening of the new Roswell shop.
“We toured a lot of places. Most weren’t it. Some almost were. But this one? We knew,” they wrote in an Instagram post.
