UPDATE (November 13, 2018): Ecco Phipps Plaza Now Open

Nearly a year-and-a-half after news broke that Ecco would open its third Atlanta-area location in Buckhead near Phipps Plaza, the next round of plans have been filed to move the project forward.

A whopping $2.2 million could be spent building the 9,498-square-foot Mediterranean restaurant from the ground up, according to a permit application submitted to City of Atlanta last week, the most recent filing for the restaurant.

That figure is in addition to nearly $400K that might have been spent readying the land for construction.

It’s unclear when the Buckhead restaurant, first announced in January 2016, will open its doors.

While original plans call for a mid-2017 debut, a company spokesperson didn’t have any additional information to share when What Now Atlanta sought comment Friday.

Ecco, a Fifth Group Restaurants concept, has locations in Midtown and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
