Sushi bar to open in Thai restaurant’s place.
The Tenth Thai Cuisine and Lounge has closed its doors.
What Now Atlanta made a visit Tuesday to the Thai restaurant, at 132 10th Street, and found The Tenth’s front door and patio gate pad locked during normal business hours.
A sign posted to The Tenth’s front door states that a “new owner” is “coming soon.” Mini=3=Thai Sushi Bar will open in the Thai Restaurant’s place, according to the sign.
The Tenth was not immediately available for comment.
Translation = this building will sit vacant for one year.
Isn’t this the original location of the Eagle? 🙂
Closed – this place never ‘looked’ open.
who knew!
Did you realize that behind this building there is another nondescript building that holds a carousel that is being restored? Of course, this was in 1988 so maybe it is gone, but the building remains.

This place scared me more than the shuttered (and soon to be leveled!) Loca Luna shell/carcass just up the street off Juniper. And now fresh, raw seafood is going to be served there? Sounds dangerous to me. Doesn’t Dewberry Capital own that whole block? Nothing survives there because everyone is waiting for Dewberry to “dew” something with it. What a waste!
Thanks Tammy!
Hershel Harrington…I was trying to remeber what was in that spot. I was thinking costume shop but that article Tammy posted cleared it up. It was Hershel Harrington Theatrical Lighting. Then it was Cha Gio for a while after they were kicked out of their Peachtree address.
Anyone remember what the building that housed The Tenth used to be?
Fascinating article Tammy – thanks for the link! I’m a little confused though; is it referencing the weird concrete block structure behind The Tenth?
Memories, the year was 1986, I worked at the Mellow Mushroom in the building on the corner (10th/Petree), the space in the middle was the original location of Blakes and on the end near the driveway was “It’s My Party”.
Sam – What have you heard about the leveling of old Loca Luna? That would be a godsend.
Yes, the building behind the Thai place that does not have the flat roof contains, or did contain, a carousel.
Makes me miss Cha Gio…
