More residents of Lawrenceville might be able to run on Dunkin’.

A location of the coffee and donut chain is planned for 1638 Lawrenceville Highway, according to a building permit application with Gwinnett County. The new building would be 2,131 square feet, according to the application.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ is now the largest coffee and donut brand in the U.S., with more than 13,200 locations across the world, including five existing stores in Lawrenceville. The company is part of Inspire Brands, which acquired the chain in 2020. Formerly called Dunkin’ Donuts, the company dropped the second part of its name in 2019 to emphasize the brand’s non-donut offerings.

In addition to donuts, the menu includes signature coffee beverages, tea and energy drinks, as well as all-day breakfast items like sandwiches, bagels and muffins.

The proposed Lawrenceville location comes from experienced Dunkin franchisee Shamran Kurani, the CEO of Kurani Food Group.

Lawrenceville is located northeast of Atlanta.
