A new Raising Cane’s could be in the works in metro Atlanta.

Plans for the fast-casual chicken chain were presented at a recent Dunwoody Homeowners Association meeting, according to ToNeToAtl.com. The restaurant would go into the space of a former Wells Fargo bank. It would be about 3,000 square feet and include a drive-thru, according to the website.

Raising Cane’s was founded by University of Georgia graduate Todd Graves in Baton Rouge in 1996. The menu includes chicken fingers and sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and the signature Cane’s Sauce. There are more than 700 locations across the country. According to the company, they are currently not focused on franchising new locations.

Carl Jenkins, real estate manager for Raising Cane’s, told What Now Atlanta that the Dunwoody location is still in the planning stages and that there is a “long way to go.”

In the meantime, the chicken chain has several existing locations in Georgia. It can currently be found in Athens, Buford, Dacula and Woodstock, according to a site map.

What Now Atlanta reported last September that Raising Cane’s is also in the works in Duluth, where it would be replacing a shuttered Steak ‘n Shake.

The company discussed plans in 2022 to expand in metro Atlanta, saying at the time that it would open at least 10 locations in the area.
