Marietta-based Calm Pilates is expanding for the first time. It has inked a lease for a new 1,600-square-foot studio space at 3079 Hidden Forest Court in Parliament at Kennesaw, a student housing building near Kennesaw Statue University.
Gary Woodward of JLL represented the landlord in the transaction.
Owner Sylvia Hernandez told What Now Atlanta that she is targeting a soft opening in December and a grand opening in January for the new studio.
Hernandez is catering the design toward the younger demographic to serve the local college student population. While her current studio in Marietta offers both mat and reformers Pilates and has a classic atmosphere, the new studio will focus on heated mat classes which she has seen become popular for younger age groups. She also plans to incorporate a more youthful wellness-focused aesthetic into the space.
In addition to the studio, Hernandez will likely add a small boutique to the front of the store that sells leisurewear.
After this studio opens, Hernandez plans to continue to open additional studios. She hopes to open a third location in spring of next year and is currently scouting new locations.
