Publix has a new store under construction in Athens. It will open at Northwood Ravin’s Magnolia mixed-use development at 1000 W. Broad Street near the University of Georgia, according to the Northwood Ravin website.

The site is currently under construction and is expected to deliver in 2027.

In addition to the 50,000-square-foot grocery store, the Magnolia development will feature 14,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 179 luxury student housing units.

“Magnolia is purpose-built with best-in-class amenities to foster student success and well-being, including an expansive pool deck, a custom-designed putt-putt course, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and a vibrant urban park highlighted by 60-foot magnolia trees,” Northwood Ravin’s website states. “Collaborative coworking and study zones further enrich the experience, making Magnolia the ideal place to live, learn and thrive in Athens.”
