Willie Degel, the former host of Food Network’s “Restaurant Stakeout” and owner of New York-based Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse, is opening Uncle Jack’s on Canton Street. The upcoming restaurant will replace Big Ketch Saltwater Grill in Roswell, which closed in May.
Uncle Jack’s on Canton Street will serve from-scratch American fare along with a beverage selection and “more inviting decor than your typical neighborhood bar and pub,” according to the restaurant’s website.
Big Ketch Saltwater Grill, a concept from Southern Proper Hospitality Group, chose not to renew its lease earlier this year in May. The hospitality group is also behind Tin Lizzy’s Cantina and Gypsy’s Kitchen.
In November of last year, Degel signed a 10-year lease for an Uncle Jack’s Meat House concept in the Peachtree Corners Town Center development in what will be his second Atlanta-area location for the concept. Once construction finishes, the New York entrepreneur will have three restaurants in Atlanta with an Uncle Jack’s Meat House already operating in Duluth.
Degel on Friday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
