Layne’s Chicken Fingers, the growing College Station-based brand, will soon begin building out an upcoming San Marcos location, according to recent public records. The eatery will be located at 1617 Aquarena Springs Drive, just west of I-35, near Sakura Sushi.

“I met with Layne’s through researching different brands. I had already been introduced to the chicken business. I love the chicken business, and I read their story and immediately reached out to them,” franchisee Noah Kara told 1851 Franchise in a 2021 interview.

When asked about his imagined future with the company, Kara laid out big dreams

“My dream and goal for this business is to be a big multi-unit franchisee for Layne’s. I want to be able to grow this business. I have this dream of setting up a company or an enterprise for generations to come in my family and with Layne’s, that is definitely a possibility.”

“I want it to be where when I hang up my jersey, my kids can come in and pick up where I left off and keep this going.”

Beyond its classic, simple basket of chicken fingers, the brand also serves up chicken finger sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, and potato salads.

Public records examined by What Now Austin state that construction will consist of building up a “new building for quick-service restaurant and shell space”, covering around 3400 square feet and costing around $800,000.

Construction is expected to wrap up by late 2024.
