A popular Canadian premium-casual dining chain is making its Massachusetts debut in Boston’s Seaport.
JOEY Restaurants is opening its first location in the state at 250 Northern Avenue, taking over the former Tony C’s and Temazcal space, according to an Instagram update from @spottedinseaport. A business filing for JOEY Restaurant (Seaport) Inc. confirms the upcoming opening.
Founded in 1992 in Calgary, Alberta by CEO Jeff Fuller, the family-owned restaurant group has grown to more than 30 locations across Canada and the United States. Known for blending elevated dining with an approachable atmosphere, JOEY has built a loyal following with its globally inspired menu.
At the Seaport restaurant, guests can expect a diverse lineup of dishes ranging from burgers, tacos, steaks, and sushi to fresh salads and hearty bowls. The menu also includes a variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, including Korean Fried Cauliflower, the Crispy Tofu Bowl, and Baja Cauliflower Tacos.
The beverage program is equally expansive, featuring signature craft cocktails, premium highballs, and zero-proof drinks. Standout favorites include the frozen Real Peach Bellini, the house Espresso Martini, and the Supersonic Gin + Tonic, finished with a refreshing lemon-lime slush.
While each JOEY location is uniquely designed to reflect its surrounding neighborhood, every restaurant shares the brand’s signature aesthetic: an energetic, upscale-casual space with contemporary design and a lively atmosphere.
“JOEY exists to deliver the ultimate dining experience,” the company states on its website. “Our handcrafted, locally, and globally inspired menu offerings are created by award-winning and inventive culinary chefs and presented by world-class hospitality leaders who are ready to serve their patrons in modern, warm, and lively environments.”
An official opening date for the Seaport restaurant has not yet been announced. What Now Boston has reached out to the team for additional details and will share updates as more information becomes available.
