A new restaurant from the team behind Comfort Kitchen is headed to Allston.

Set to open in early 2026, Ama will be part of Harvard’s new Enterprise Research Campus at 100 Western Ave, according to the Boston Business Journal. Co-owners Biplaw Rai and Nyacko Pearl Perry are leading the project, reports the publication.

If the team’s track record is any indication, Ama is poised to elevate the neighborhood’s dining scene. Comfort Kitchen, which began as a pop-up before debuting in Dorchester in 2023, quickly earned national acclaim for its thoughtful, comforting dishes inspired by the African diaspora. In 2024, the eatery was named a James Beard Foundation finalist for Best New Restaurant.

While details about Ama’s menu have not yet been released, a representative told What Now Boston that the restaurant will specialize in Nepali cuisine, which is characterized by comforting dishes like momo (steamed dumplings) dal bhat (lentils and rice), and tarkari (vegetable curry). The name “Ama” means “mother” in Nepalese.

Keep an eye out for updates as Ama’s opening date draws closer.

UPDATE: This article has been updated to include additional details from a representative for Ama.
