Back in July, What Now Boston reported that Paris Baguette was gearing up for a major Greater Boston expansion. Now, the South Korean bakery-café chain has revealed plans for roughly 20 locations across the region, a significant increase from its previously announced eight-unit goal.
According to the Boston Business Journal, franchisees Ankur Sahni and Megha Arora-Sahni are leading the ambitious push. The plans are part of Paris Baguette’s broader U.S. growth strategy, as the brand works toward growing from its current 260 locations to 1,000 nationwide cafés by 2030.
The Sahnis opened their first Paris Baguette in Bellingham in June, and they are now preparing to bring the bakery-café to the Mansfield Crossing shopping center at 280 School Street. Beyond Mansfield, the franchisees are exploring additional locations in local suburbs including Brookline, Framingham, Lexington, and Newton. Specific addresses and opening timelines have not yet been determined for those sites, as plans remain in the early stages.
For future locations, the franchisees are seeking highly visible, accessible spaces where the bakery can become part of the surrounding community. Potential sites include open-air lifestyle centers, mixed-use developments, neighborhood retail plazas, and walkable downtown areas.
Founded in Seoul in 1988, Paris Baguette has grown from a single café into a global bakery-café chain with more than 4,000 locations worldwide. The brand combines French baking traditions with Asian influences, serving everything from freshly baked pastries and breads to coffee and more substantial café fare, such as sandwiches, salads, and wraps.
Most Paris Baguette locations follow a self-serve format, with customers grabbing a tray and tongs before browsing displays filled with pastries and baked goods. After making their selections, guests can head to the counter to order beverages, cakes, and other menu items.
The bakery-café also rolls out seasonal treats throughout the year, with current fall offerings including the Caramel Apple Streusel Donut, Dirt & Worms Chocolate Chiffon Cake Slice, Spider Mochi Donut, Ghost Pepper Iced Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Chai Oatmilk Latte, and Iced Caramel Apple Matcha Latte.
The Mansfield Crossing café is slated to open in early 2027. When it debuts, the eatery will join a number of tenants at the shopping center, including Burton’s Grill & Bar, CAVA, Kohl’s, L.L.Bean, MiniLuxe, Sephora, sweetgreen, The Fresh Market, and Warby Parker.
What Now Boston will continue to share updates as additional Paris Baguette locations begin to take shape across Greater Boston. In the meantime, those looking for a taste of the brand can visit its existing Massachusetts locations in Cambridge’s Central Square and at The Abby in Quincy.
