A South Korean bakery-café chain known for its French- and Asian-inspired pastries, breads, cakes, and coffee is preparing for a major expansion across Massachusetts.

Paris Baguette franchisees Ankur Sahni and Megha Arora-Sahni will open their flagship café at 253 Hartford Avenue in Bellingham later this month, marking the launch of an eight-unit expansion across the state. The nearly 4,300-square-foot location will occupy a high-traffic site adjacent to Whole Foods, with a tentative soft opening set for June 29, 2026 and a grand opening to follow, pending final inspections and approvals.

From there, the duo plans to quickly scale. Mansfield is slated as the next location, with a target opening ahead of the holiday season. An address for the Mansfield café has not yet been announced.

Beyond these first two sites, the couple is actively evaluating and pursuing locations for the remaining six cafés throughout Greater Boston. “We look forward to sharing additional locations as leases are finalized and projects move forward,” they told What Now Boston, adding that they plan to open the additional outposts in the coming years.

The franchisees are focused on sites that can fully showcase the Paris Baguette experience while serving as gathering places within their communities. Ideal locations may include open-air lifestyle centers, mixed-use developments, neighborhood retail plazas, and walkable downtown areas with strong visibility and accessibility.

“What excites us most is introducing more communities across Massachusetts to Paris Baguette’s unique combination of artisan baking, café culture, and warm hospitality,” said the couple in a statement. “Guests can expect a welcoming neighborhood gathering place featuring freshly baked pastries, breads, cakes, handcrafted beverages, and an experience designed for both everyday visits and life’s special celebrations. We are happy to see you, happier to serve you.”

Founded in Seoul in 1988, Paris Baguette today operates more than 4,000 locations worldwide, blending both French- and Asian-inspired baking traditions into a single café experience. Most locations follow a self-serve model, where customers pick up a tray and tongs to select pastries from open displays before ordering coffee, cakes, and other items at the counter.

The menu features a wide range of sweet and savory offerings, including cakes, tarts, Belgian waffles, croissants, donuts, breads, and quiche, as well as heartier fare like sandwiches, salads, and wraps. Beverage options range from espresso-based drinks and teas to frappes and smoothies.

Two Massachusetts Paris Baguette locations can currently be found in Cambridge’s Central Square and at The Abby in Quincy. What Now Boston will continue to share updates as the Mansfield opening approaches and additional Massachusetts locations are finalized. Stay tuned as the eight-unit expansion unfolds.
