A North Cambridge shop filled with whimsical glassware, handmade goods, and one-of-a-kind finds is expanding to Brookline.
Glass Ripples is opening a second storefront at 305 Harvard Street, according to recently filed permits for the business. Ownership confirmed the expansion in an Instagram post, sharing that the shop is currently hiring for several positions, including an assistant manager role.
“We’re opening a new store in Brookline! More space, more artists, more workshops, and so much more,” the team wrote. “I‘ll share more soon. 🥳”
Since opening its original location in May 2024, Glass Ripples has quickly become a go-to destination for shoppers searching for playful, artistic pieces that add a little personality to everyday life. The shop features a carefully curated mix of glassware, ceramics, stationery, gifts, vintage treasures, and home goods from independent artists, with items available both in-store and online.
Current offerings include piano martini glasses, cat-shaped claw clips, food-inspired candles, swirl-patterned carafes, and other colorful conversation pieces designed to bring a touch of whimsy into the home.
Beyond shopping, Glass Ripples also hosts hands-on glass fusing workshops, inviting guests to create their own custom glass pieces, including coasters, magnets, and plates. The roughly two-hour workshops typically cost between $50 and $60 per person and offer visitors the chance to learn a new craft while making something uniquely their own. The new space will be a little larger than the original shop, with a small backroom where they can continue offering fun workshops.
Permits filed for the upcoming storefront reveal several planned updates to the space. According to a commercial building permit, the shop’s existing windows and double-door entrance will be replaced with two new windows and a single door along the right side of the building. The interior and exterior will also receive a refresh, with the existing black walls and ceiling being repainted a light blue hue and a new acrylic letter sign installed.
Those interested in joining the Glass Ripples team can find more information through the company’s website and submit a resume, portfolio, Instagram account, or examples of creative work to [email protected].
“Thank you for being here, whether you’ve visited once or a hundred times or have been following along,” continued the team on Instagram. “Every purchase, every workshop, every post, every kind word, and every recommendation has helped keep our little shop going. 🩵🩵🥂🫶”
While an exact opening date has not yet been set, the new Glass Ripples store is slated to open in the fall of 2026.
