It looks like one of Greater Boston’s best-known DIY creators is crafting an exciting new chapter for her business.

Michelle Beaton, founder of popular DIY brand and blog Weekend Craft, recently announced that she is closing Weekend Craft Studio and opening The Craft Cafe, a new creative café coming to Norwood‘s Winsmith Mill Market at 61 Endicott Street. While the business will remain in the same building, it is relocating from its third-floor studio to a first-floor retail space, “making it even easier to stop in for a coffee, a craft, or a little creative inspiration.”

“I have so much to catch you up on,” Beaton shared on social media. “The last few days have just been a whirlwind… So much work to be done but it feels so good getting into the place and seeing the vision start to come to life! I’m hoping to document the whole process and share it with you!”

Beaton officially moved out of the former Weekend Craft Studio on July 8 and is already hard at work bringing the new concept to life. Since securing the keys, she’s been painting the space, picking up restaurant equipment, and meeting with plumbers and electricians to prepare for renovations.

According to the Weekend Craft website, The Craft Cafe will combine a neighborhood coffee shop with a hands-on creative studio. Guests will be able to grab a coffee and pastry while choosing from a variety of DIY craft projects, browse curated art supplies, handmade goods, and creative gifts, attend workshops, or even host private parties and events.

What began as a DIY blog in 2013 has grown into a thriving creative brand. Beaton originally launched Weekend Craft to share home improvement projects, crafts, recipes, and decorating ideas that could be completed over the course of a weekend. Since then, the brand has amassed more than 800,000 followers across social media and expanded into a full-scale creative business.

Her work has been featured by publications including The Huffington Post, Country Living, Good Housekeeping, and ELLE Decor, and she has partnered with major brands such as Target, Ryobi, Epson, GE, The Home Depot, Cricut, Raymour & Flanigan, and FrogTape.

An official opening date for The Craft Cafe has not yet been announced. Fans can keep up with renovation progress and future opening news on Weekend Craft’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
