A new Slim Chickens restaurant is underway in Myrtle Beach, marking the latest addition to a nine-location expansion across the state.

Known for their ownership of numerous Firehouse Subs outlets, franchisees Larry and Jody Chandler of Chandler Restaurant Group are spearheading this latest venture. The uncle-nephew duo recently opened Slim Chickens locations in Moncks Corner and Florence, with another currently in the works in Conway.

According to The Sun News, the forthcoming drive-thru eatery appears poised for the Carolina Forest area. Construction is in full swing at 135 Sapwood Rd on a 1.36-acre plot, right next to Publix.

The Fayetteville, Arkansas-based franchise boasts nearly 200 sites across 35 states and serves a variety of chicken-centric fare, from sandwiches and wraps to tenders and wings. The fast-casual restaurant also offers mac and cheese bowls, chicken and waffles, brownies, milkshakes, and a slew of sides.

While Larry Chandler confirmed this development with What Now Charleston, he did not reveal a grand opening date. However, he did recently tell The Post and Courier that he hopes to welcome guests to the new locale in late July or August 2024. Stay tuned for further details.
